Miscreants hack businessman in Feni after failing to snatch motorcycle

Miscreants have hacked and injured a businessman named Shyamal Kanti Das in Feni after failing to snatch his motorcycle. The incident took place at the mouth of Banshpara on Trunk Road in the town at around 11:45pm on Tuesday.
The injured Shyamal Kanti Das runs an aquarium business in front of the Feni PTI School gate. He is the son of Engineer Tapan Kumar Das, general secretary of the Central Kalibari.
Local sources said that while Shyamal was passing the mouth of Banshpara on Trunk Road by motorcycle at night, several muggers blocked his way and tried to snatch the motorcycle. Failing in that, they hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons.
When people nearby came forward on hearing Shyamal’s screams, the miscreants fled, leaving behind the injured Shyamal and the motorcycle. Locals later rescued him and took him to Feni 250-bed General Hospital.
Feni Model Police Station was informed of the matter immediately after the incident. A written complaint was lodged with the police station on Wednesday morning.
Confirming the incident, Sajal Kanti Dash, OC (investigation) of Feni Model Police Station, said a written complaint has been submitted to the police station over the incident. Necessary legal action will be taken after investigation.
