US President Donald Trump has shown interest in the idea of making rapper Nicki Minaj the next White House press secretary, although he did not announce any final decision on the matter. US entertainment news outlet TMZ reported the news.
In an interview on ‘The Benny Show’, host Benny Johnson raised the possibility of Nicki Minaj as press secretary. In reply Trump said, ‘It’s a good idea. I’ll have to think about it.’ He also remarked that Benny Johnson himself could be a good candidate for the press secretary post.
It is learnt that Nicki Minaj had earlier travelled on Air Force One with White House officials to a midterm election rally. After that, several officials proposed making her press secretary. Last weekend, White House communications director Steven Cheung wrote on social media platform X, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House press secretary.’
Trump’s adviser Alex Bruesewitz later also commented on the matter on social media. He wrote, ‘Hey Barbz, what do you think of this idea?’ Nicki Minaj’s fans are known as the ‘Barbz’.
Before this remark about the press secretary post, Trump had also publicly praised Nicki Minaj’s physical beauty. Speaking at an election rally in Port Huron, Michigan, he praised Nicki Minaj’s backside. Trump said then, ‘By the way, earlier I saw an incredibly beautiful backside. It’s Nicki Minaj’s. It’s not one to miss. Wait! Really, it’s not one to miss.’
There was no possibility on the list of much-discussed possible events of 2026 that Nicki Minaj would join the Trump administration and go to the White House. But the possibility of it happening cannot be ruled out entirely either.
