‘Jamaat ameer has effectively stood on the side of genocide’ — Rashed Khan

By terming Major Akhtaruzzaman, an abettor of genocide, a hero, the Jamaat ameer has effectively taken a position in favour of genocide, the prime minister’s political assistant Rashed Khan has commented.
He made the comment in a post on his verified Facebook account on Sunday morning. In the same post, Rashed Khan said the Jamaat ameer had declared a general amnesty for the Awami League within a month of the mass uprising. Through that, did he not also forgive Sheikh Hasina, who ordered the genocide? The one who is crying for Major Akhtaruzzaman today may cry for Sheikh Hasina too in the future. Such is Jamaat’s political character. My belief is that, because of having been an accomplice in the genocide of 71, the genocide of 24 is a trifling matter to Jamaat! One example of which is the crocodile tears of the Jamaat ameer and their leaders and activists for Major Akhtaruzzaman.
This BNP leader said a case should also be filed against Major (retd) Akhtaruzzaman as an abettor of the genocide of 24. If someone files such a case, how will Jamaat deal with it? Or have all of Major Akhtaruzzaman’s crimes been forgiven because he joined Jamaat? Does Jamaat-e-Islami really want to turn into a rehabilitation factory for criminals?
