Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohammad Asaduzzaman has said that an initiative will be taken to close the opportunity to become a lawyer after the age of 35. If the initiative is implemented, the scope for entering this profession anew after a certain age may become limited.
The minister said this at a programme organised by the Attorney General’s Office at the Supreme Court auditorium on Tuesday (13 October).
However, although the government’s initiative on the age limit was mentioned at the programme, several issues remained unclear. No details were available on what kind of changes will be made to the law or policy to implement it, when it might take effect, and what impact it will have on those now preparing to enter the legal profession.
