The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has directed all educational institutions in the country to hold special programmes on the significance of ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’ tomorrow, 7 November (Saturday). An urgent directive has been sent to the institutions to this effect.
The directive was issued in a letter signed by DSHE Assistant Director (General Administration) Md Rezaul Karim on Tuesday (3 November).
The letter says that, as directed, a request is being made to carry out the programmes set by the government to celebrate National Revolution and Solidarity Day on 7 November 2026. Institutions have been asked to organise special discussions and essay competitions for students highlighting the significance of the day. Because of these programmes, teachers and students have to go to their institutions that day.
Another letter has asked for the national flag to be hoisted on 7 November to mark the day.
Meanwhile, a public holiday has been declared on 7 November for the day. But as the day falls on a Saturday this year, government employees cannot enjoy it as a separate holiday.
