Arijit Singh seems to have poured the deepest feelings of his soul into the song ‘Jai Jai Ram’ from Bollywood’s much-awaited epic film ‘Ramayana: Part 1’. To properly bring out the devotion and emotion of the song, he gave nearly 200 takes one after another.
A special report by Indian entertainment news outlet Pinkvilla claims that during the recording Arijit was so immersed in the spirit of the song that he tried to build its emotion anew in every take.
According to the report, going beyond the technical aspects of the melody, Arijit surrendered himself completely to the mood of this devotional song. He tried again and again in different ways so that the core melody of the prayer would reach the listener’s heart. The extent of his absorption can be understood from the fact that he did not seem to want to finish this special musical chapter at all. He kept trying to make the song’s emotion more perfect, take after take.
Released on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, ‘Jai Jai Ram’ has already presented audiences with a wonderful glimpse of the vast canvas of ‘Ramayana’. The song’s music has been directed by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, while the poetic and solemn lyrics have been written by renowned poet Dr Kumar Vishwas. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal have lent their voices. Along with seeing Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita on screen, this song has multiplied expectations surrounding the film.
Directed by noted filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari and produced by producer Namit Malhotra, this project based on the Indian epic is planned for theatrical release worldwide in two parts. The first part will be released on 6 November this year, while the second part will arrive on Diwali in 2027.
In this vast-canvas, star-studded film, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, Yash is playing the role of Ravana, the king of Lanka, Sunny Deol the role of Hanuman and Ravi Dubey the role of Lakshman. Besides, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Vivek Oberoi are in important roles.
With its blend of grand scale and heart-touching music, ‘Ramayana’ is now being considered one of the most awaited and talked-about films in the history of Indian cinema.
