Jubo Dal president demands arrest of Nasiruddin Patwary over cocktail blasts

Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna has demanded the immediate arrest of Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), over the cocktail blasts. He raised the demand while speaking as the chief guest at a rally and procession held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Dhaka South City Jubo Dal organised the rally under the title ‘Against destabilising the country through planned terrorism’.

Monayem Munna said Nasiruddin Patwary wants to go viral on social media by behaving in any manner. That ‘child leader’ has said the throwing of cocktails will stop if the demands of the 11 parties are accepted. Then who is throwing these cocktails? He must be brought under the law over all the cocktail blasts and bus arson incidents and arrested as the mastermind of the cocktail attacks.

Referring to Jamaat lawmaker Gazi Nazrul, the Jubo Dal president said the people of the country have seen his misdeeds and character. Because of him, a 19-year-old young woman from a poor family became the victim of trolling across the country. Her life became unbearable as people spread slander. He raised the question of whether the girl died by suicide the day before yesterday or was killed.

He said that after being elected a member of parliament, a public representative’s duty was to keep the voters of the area safe, but the opposite happened here. He alleged that Gazi Nazrul and his first wife used to subject the girl to oppression and torture. Munna said he is on remand as the first person in the history of Bangladesh to be so while being a member of parliament, which is extremely shameful for the nation. He thanked the government for arresting him as soon as the case was filed.

The Jubo Dal president further said that yesterday another Jamaat leader behaved wrongfully with a madrasa student. If this is the sample of their politics of religion, then if they somehow go to state power they will destroy the country and make people’s lives unsafe.

He said another hypocrisy of theirs is their collusion with the Awami League. They colluded with the Awami League in the past too. He said he believes they are still secretly colluding with the Awami League.

Monayem Munna said the people have recognised those who want to destabilise Bangladesh through planned conspiracy and intrigue. One must remain alert against the plot to destabilise the country, and the people must be made vigilant. Jubo Dal is on the streets and has the capacity to face conspiracies.

The Jubo Dal president also condemned and protested the incident of torture of a student at Rajshahi Railway Station. Alongside this, he demanded the arrest of Salahuddin Ammar over the attack and vandalism at Rajshahi Railway Station.

With Dhaka South City Jubo Dal Convener Khandaker Enamul Haque Enam in the chair and Member Secretary Rabiul Islam Nayan conducting, the rally was also attended by Jubo Dal Senior Vice-President Rezaul Karim Paul, Vice-Presidents Ziaur Rahman Zia and Nurul Islam Sohel, and Senior Joint General Secretary Billal Hossain Tarek, along with leaders and activists of the organisation.
