Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has shown interest in creating opportunities for Bangladesh’s participation in various important sectors of Saudi Arabia, including development projects and infrastructure construction. He hopes opportunities will be created for Bangladesh in the country’s various development and productive activities ahead of ‘Saudi Vision 2030’, World Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
The minister said this on Wednesday (23 September) at a meeting with Ashraful Haque Chowdhury, president of the Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI).
At the meeting, the SABCCI president congratulated the minister on behalf of the chamber’s members and board of directors on his taking charge of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. He wished the minister success, good health and long life.
The meeting was informed that SABCCI will organise the ‘Bangladesh Trade Promotion Mission and Product Catalogue Show’ in Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia next month. There will be meetings and exchanges of views there with representatives of different chambers of commerce of Saudi Arabia and eminent businesspeople, and the products and services of 10 important sectors of Bangladesh will be displayed and promoted.
It is hoped that through this the familiarity of Bangladeshi products and services in the Saudi market will increase and commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries will broaden further.
The minister wished this SABCCI initiative success and stressed the active participation of the chamber’s members in it.
