Mehazabien Chowdhury has taken a judge’s seat on ‘Marks Allrounder’, a reality show to discover talent among children and teenagers, alongside singer and actor Tahsan Khan. Mehazabien, who entered showbiz through the ‘Lux-Channel i Superstar’ competition in 2010, was a judge of that same competition last year. That season ended in April this year. Within a year, she is once again serving as a judge.
Speaking about becoming a judge of Marks Allrounder, Mehazabien Chowdhury said, ‘The Marks Allrounder reality show has started again after many years. I have been invited as a judge this time, which is truly a great honour and joy for me.’
She added, ‘It feels good to be part of this wonderful initiative to discover new talent. The arrival of new talent in the industry always brings hope. I hope some talented faces will emerge from this stage who will further enrich our entertainment world in future.’
The final round of the competition has been airing on NTV since 30 October, every Friday and Monday at 9:30pm. Starting with 100 regional rounds, the contest has reached the final round after divisional and national-level selections. The country’s three best allrounders will be chosen from three age-based groups for their talent in dancing, singing, acting, drawing, recitation, storytelling and extempore speech. Each of the three best allrounders from the three groups will receive an education scholarship of Tk 15 lakh. The show is hosted by content creators Iftekhar Rafsan and Sunerah Tasnim.
Since signing up for films, Mehazabien has cut back on acting in TV dramas and is choosing her projects carefully. She was last seen in the web series ‘Cactus’, directed by Shihab Shaheen, which was released during the last Eid-ul-Fitr. She is reportedly now preparing for a new film. Tahsan, meanwhile, has bid farewell to singing and acting and is busy with hosting. After Family Feud Season 2, he most recently hosted the music competition ‘Voice of Bangladesh’.
Background
According to a Prothom Alo report on 16 April, the Dhaka regional round of the competition, for students from play group to Class 12, was held on 17 and 18 April; regional rounds in various districts had been completed before that.
