A colourful rally and cleanliness drive have been held in Araihazar of Narayanganj to raise public awareness about dengue prevention. The rally was brought out from the upazila parishad premises at 11am on Saturday (26 September).
The upazila administration organised the programme as part of the countrywide dengue prevention and cleanliness drive. Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Md Raihan Kabir led it.
The deputy commissioner said drives by the administration alone are not enough to prevent dengue; it requires everyone’s awareness and collective effort. Earlier, he took part in a views-exchange meeting with the heads of various offices.
Present at the rally were Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Asadur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mostafizur Rahman Emon, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Ataur Rahman, Senior Fisheries Officer Jesmin Akter, Upazila Agriculture Officer Rasel Mia, Public Health Officer Aysha Akter, district BNP convening committee member Lutfor Rahman, upazila BNP President Yusuf Ali Bhuiyan, General Secretary Jewel Ahmed and VP Kabir Hossain, among others.
