According to the Uttara division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB), early on 20 October 2026 police raided a three-storey house in the Khilkhet police station’s Police Housing-1 area and detained a total of 84 people, including 26 women and 58 men, one of whom was an Afghan national — bdnews24.com reported this on 20 October 2026.
According to the same report, cannabis, yaba, liquor and equipment for taking yaba were seized in the raid, and the house belonged to Additional DIG Abdullah Al Zahir and was listed for rent on Airbnb and Traveler. The DB team went there on the basis of information about all-night DJ parties, drug taking and the buying and selling of drugs.
