State Minister Bobby Hajjaj has said steps have been taken to quickly complete recruitment to the vacant head teacher posts in government primary schools.
He said this on Monday while visiting two schools in the Kotwali police station area of Old Dhaka: Mahutuli Renaissance Government Primary School and Prasanna Poddar Lane Government Primary School.
According to Bobby Hajjaj, about 34,500 head teacher posts are currently vacant in the country. Discussions are under way with the Public Service Commission (PSC) to fill these posts quickly. He believes that if recruitment is completed swiftly, the administrative work and leadership of the schools will become more effective.
The state minister said the promotion of skilled and experienced teachers is also being considered. In this regard, necessary steps will be taken in line with the existing recruitment rules and the PSC’s process. He added that once head teachers are appointed, the need to recruit assistant teachers will arise anew.
Officials concerned from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Directorate of Primary Education and the local administration accompanied the state minister during the school visits.
