Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
However, rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur temporarily at one or two places in Chattogram division.
This was stated in the weather forecast for the 24 hours from 9am today, Monday.
On the synoptic situation, the forecast said the deep depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal moved north-westwards, intensified and turned into Cyclone ‘Arnab’ at 6am today. It now lies over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.
Moving west-north-westwards and intensifying further, it may turn into a severe cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal by midnight tonight. It may then move north-westwards and cross the coast of India’s Andhra Pradesh as a very severe cyclonic storm by 28 October.
The country’s highest temperature yesterday, Sunday, was 37.6 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. The lowest temperature today was recorded in Tetulia, at 16.1 degrees Celsius.
Wind in Dhaka today is blowing from the west or north-west at 6 to 12 kilometres per hour. Relative humidity in the air was 76 percent at 6am.
No rain fell anywhere in the country in the 24 hours up to 6am today.
The sun will set in the capital at 5:24pm today and rise at 6:02am tomorrow.
