Shoriful Islam struck in his third over with the ball on day three. In the Mirpur Test, the left-arm pacer sent West Indies batter Tagenarine Chanderpaul back to the dressing room with a superb delivery.
The ball was full and outside off stump. Chanderpaul went for a cover drive but could not get fully to the line of the ball. It took the edge of the bat and flew to second slip, where Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto made no mistake with the catch. The dismissal ended a 65-run fifth-wicket partnership that had lasted 136 balls.
Chanderpaul made 56 off 184 balls before he fell, with six fours and a six. Caribbean captain Roston Chase came to the crease after his departure, with Justin Greaves unbeaten at the other end. At the time of writing, West Indies were 176 for five in 62 overs.
