Actor and director Mir Sabbir has made a new drama serial, ‘Khub Chena Golpo’, based on his own story idea and under his own direction. It will begin airing on the MSM Drama YouTube channel next month.
The screenplay was written by Shahabuddin Ahmed. The cast includes Dolly Zahur, Shahed Ali, Dipa Khandaker, Kazi Raju and Tahmina Sultana Mou, among many others.
Asked what the story is about, Mir Sabbir said, ‘Khub Chena Golpo is the story of our own lives. It is made up of the many kinds of stories that happen in our lives at different times. It is a story of family values and family bonds. Yet we do not think much about these familiar stories of our lives. Often we cannot understand our parents, but when we become parents ourselves, we do realise those mistakes of ours. Many more such things will come up in this serial.’
On working with Sabbir, Dolly Zahur said, ‘I have acted in many of Sabbir’s dramas. As sincere as Sabbir is as an actor, he is even more sincere as a director. I saw proof of that once again in this drama.’
Shahed Ali said, ‘As a director, Sabbir is extremely attentive. During the shoot you cannot tell how easily he is pulling off such a difficult job. Sabbir is very dedicated as a director.’
Dipa Khandaker has worked under her friend’s direction before. She said, ‘Sabbir is my friend. I have worked under his direction before too. He makes no compromises in directing. That is why his dramas are appreciated by viewers. In every one of his dramas, Sabbir tries to tell stories of life.’
And Tahmina Sultana Mou, talking about his direction, said, ‘There is an ease and comfort in working with Sabbir bhai. You do not have to think too much about your own character. Sabbir bhai makes everything so easy that if you just focus on the acting, the character comes alive. I am very hopeful about the serial Khub Chena Golpo.’
