The father of popular singer Mousumi Akter Salma has passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun). Salma announced the news of her father’s death in a post on social media at around 10:00pm on Wednesday (16 September).
In that emotional post, she wrote, ‘My abba is no more.’
The name of Salma’s father is Fazlul Haque. A pall of gloom has descended on his family and relatives at his death. However, nothing could be known immediately about the cause of death or the time or place of the janaza and burial.
Incidentally, Salma had been passing a busy time in the music arena. Her new song ‘Prem Lila’, a duet with Biplob Saha, was released recently. The music video of the song, made in an ambience of folk tradition and love, has also been released.
Earlier, returning to recording after a break of some days, she lent her voice to a song titled ‘Kunje Ar Bhalo Lage Na Bondhu Bihone’, with lyrics and tune by guru Shafi Mondol. The song is scheduled to be released during Durga Puja.
