Rahat Zaman, president of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit of Chhatra Dal, has built an artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital platform named ‘ScholarBhai.com’ (scholarbhai.com). The platform has been launched to simplify complex tasks such as finding scholarships, organising applications and preparing flawless documents for students who want to pursue higher education abroad.
Rahat Zaman himself confirmed the matter on Monday (12 October). According to him, the initiative was taken to ensure that the country’s students get opportunities for higher education at the international level.
The founders said that when students upload their curriculum vitae (CV) to ‘ScholarBhai.com’ with details of their GPA, CGA, IELTS score, bank balance or study gap, the platform’s AI will analyse it and automatically create a profile. It will then review how well the student’s qualifications match scholarships from around the world in its database and show a ‘fit score’. Where there are gaps, it will also suggest how to fill them.
The platform has a separate ‘document workspace’. There, CVs can be customised with the help of AI, and statements of purpose (SOP) or cover letters will be evaluated and given a ‘document readiness score’. The platform’s ‘professor outreach’ feature will analyse the research areas of professors at international universities and automatically draft emails. Students will also receive guidance from verified experts and former students, or alumni.
Speaking about the initiative, Rahat Zaman said their politics is centred on the rights and future of general students. He noted that building skilled human resources is essential to meet the challenges of the 21st century. In his view, this blend of technology and young people’s talent will make students more confident on the global stage.
Kazi Tanvir Rahman, joint organising secretary of the Chhatra Dal unit, said many students give up their dream of higher education for lack of proper information. He said information on international internships and various world-class competitions will also be added to the platform in phases.
