So far 20,672 passengers have been inconvenienced by operational restrictions at Saudi Arabia’s airports. A total of 135 flights of various airlines have been affected, 62 of them direct and 73 transit flights.
Squadron Leader Saqib of the flight management division of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) gave this information. According to his figures, the direct flights affected include 23 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 19 of Saudia, 10 of US-Bangla Airlines and 10 of Riyadh Air.
IndiGo tops the list of transit flights with 28. It is followed by 14 Emirates flights, nine of Qatar Airways, eight of flydubai, seven of SalamAir, six of Air India and one of EgyptAir.
With flights disrupted by the airport restrictions, passengers’ travel schedules are changing. Passengers are therefore being advised to contact the airline concerned before travelling to confirm the latest flight schedule.
