The level of air pollution in various cities of the world keeps rising day by day. In this situation, Lahore of Pakistan is at the top of the list of cities with the world’s most polluted air today, with an air quality score of 204. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka is in third position on the list with a score of 169, which is considered ‘unhealthy’.
This information was obtained on Saturday (3 October) from the index of Switzerland-based air quality monitoring organisation Air Quality Index (IQAir).
According to IQAir’s index, India’s Kolkata is in second place on the list on this day, with a score of 173. Dhaka is third with a score of 169, another Indian city, Delhi, is in fourth place with a score of 168, and Kuwait’s Kuwait City is in fifth place with a score of 165.
According to IQAir’s standards, air quality is considered ‘very good’ if the score is between zero and 50. A score of 51 to 100 is taken as ‘moderate or tolerable’, and a score of 101 to 150 is considered ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups’. Meanwhile, 151 to 200 is considered ‘unhealthy’, 201 to 300 ‘very unhealthy’, and above 301 ‘hazardous’.
