The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has decided to keep all jewellery establishments across the country closed today, 19 October, for Sharadiya Durga Puja. The decision has been taken on the occasion of Ashtami and Kumari Puja. The information was given in a notice signed by Bajus president Enamul Haque Khan on Sunday (18 October).
The notice said the organisation has decided to keep all jewellery establishments in the country completely closed on the day of Ashtami Puja of the Sharadiya Durga festival.
Under the Bajus decision, normal operations will not run at gold shops anywhere in the country on this special day of Durga Puja. As a result of the decision, buyers will have to bear in mind that the shops concerned will remain closed for buying and selling gold.
To implement the decision, Bajus has requested the owners of jewellery establishments and the traders concerned across the country to keep their establishments closed today. At the same time, the organisation has sought everyone’s cooperation in this regard.
