The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has issued a fresh threat while admitting responsibility for the attack on actor Tiger Shroff.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has threatened that anyone from Mumbai’s film world who ignores its warning, or who works with actor Salman Khan, will be made its next target.
The gang has issued fresh threats to people working with Salman Khan after Sunday’s shooting targeting actor Tiger Shroff in Juhu, Mumbai.
Two people identifying themselves as members of the gang, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, have admitted responsibility for the attack in a post on social media.
The post said, ‘Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu are taking responsibility for what happened with Tiger Shroff today. We had phoned him earlier and warned him. But he did not understand the matter. So today we made him understand it properly.’
Others in the Hindi film industry were directly threatened in the post as well. It said, ‘Those in the Mumbai film industry who will not listen to us or who work with Salman Khan will meet the same fate. Wait and watch.’
Rival gangs that might claim responsibility for the incident as their own were also warned in the post.
Law enforcement and security agencies are verifying the authenticity of that social media post. Meanwhile, Mumbai police have deployed 12 special teams to analyse CCTV footage, identify the attackers and look into the sequence of the incident.
The feud between jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and actor Salman Khan originates in the 1998 hunting of a blackbuck deer in Rajasthan. The blackbuck is sacred to the Bishnoi community.
Alleging that the community’s sentiments had been hurt, Lawrence Bishnoi first publicly threatened to kill Salman in 2018, telling him to apologise.
The feud intensified further with a series of attacks targeting people close to Salman Khan in 2024. These include the killing of politician Baba Siddique and the shooting targeting Salman’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
The Bishnoi gang then began threatening others in Mumbai’s film industry too. Extortion demands and threats have also been made to people who have personal or professional ties with Salman.
