In the regular drives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the capital, 427 people have been arrested in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 54 cases were filed. This information was given in a press release of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division on Sunday.
Of those arrested, Ramna Division arrested 21, Lalbagh Division 53, Wari Division 54, Motijheel Division 55, Tejgaon Division 89, Mirpur Division 82, Gulshan Division 35, Uttara Division 35 and the Detective Branch 3.
During the drives, 54 kg 460 grams of ganja, 524 yaba pills, 1.5 grams of heroin and 2 mobile phones were recovered.
They were arrested, along with the recovery of various items of evidence and narcotics, in drives conducted in different thana areas of the capital. Further legal action against those arrested is under way.
