Civilians are being given military training in Iran amid tension with the United States and Israel. Women too have been seen taking firearms training at a training centre in Tehran.
British news agency Reuters reported this in a report.
The report said women took part in this training at a military training centre at Imam Hossein Square in Tehran on Sunday (4 October). After receiving various instructions from military officers and trainers, they were seen practising the use of firearms, even handguns.
Earlier, on Saturday (3 October), Iran opened a new training centre for civilians at Haft-e Tir Square in Tehran. These trainings are being given as preparation to face a ground attack if the United States and Israel launch one. Such a centre had also been opened earlier at Imam Hossein Square.
Raheleh Ghadiri, 45, who took part in the training, said her fear would lessen somewhat if she knew how to protect her family and the people of her area during war.
Reuters said the seven-month conflict began with the attacks by the United States and Israel on 28 February. Although a ceasefire on 8 April ended the 40-day war, sporadic clashes continued even after that.
Sources said Iran is preparing to give a more extensive and stronger response if the United States launches a major attack again.
