In the regular drives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in the capital, 465 people have been arrested in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 73 cases were filed. This information was given in a press release of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division on Wednesday.
According to the release, of those arrested, Ramna Division arrested 21, Lalbagh Division 55, Wari Division 59, Motijheel Division 75, Tejgaon Division 60, Mirpur Division 114, Gulshan Division 29, Uttara Division 42 and the Detective Branch 10.
In the drives, 1 foreign pistol, 2 magazines, 8 rounds of bullets, 4 knives, 1 steel cutter, 2,484 yaba pills and 2 kg 360 grams of ganja were recovered.
They were arrested, along with the recovery of various items of evidence and narcotics, in drives in different thana areas of the capital. The process of taking further legal action against those arrested is under way.
