The Diploma in Primary Education (DPEd) Board, Mymensingh, under the National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE), has changed the date of the holiday on the occasion of Fateha-i-Yazdaham. The holiday will be observed at the country’s PTIs on 23 September instead of the previously scheduled 24 September.
This was announced on 17 September in a notice signed by AKM Monirul Hasan, deputy director (evaluation) of the DPEd Board.
The notice said the Fateha-i-Yazdaham holiday was fixed for 24 September in the PTIs’ holiday list 2026 sent from NAPE. However, as this holiday depends on the sighting of the moon, it will be observed this year one day before the scheduled date, that is, on 23 September.
As a result, the country’s PTIs will remain closed on 23 September and activities will continue as usual the next day, 24 September.
The superintendents of all PTIs in the country have been instructed to take necessary steps in this regard. At the same time, copies of the notice have been sent to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Directorate of Primary Education and other offices concerned for information.
