After falling three times in a row, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) most recently raised the price of gold in the local market on Saturday. This time, the price of good-quality gold has been set at Tk 2,32,930 after an increase of Tk 1,050. The new price took effect from 10:00am that day. Gold will be sold at the same price today, Friday, as well.
Bajus said the new price has been fixed considering the overall situation as the price of tejabi gold (pure gold) has gone up.
According to the new rates, the price of the best-quality, that is 22-carat, gold is Tk 2,32,930 per bhori including VAT. The price of 21-carat gold has risen by Tk 1,050 to Tk 2,22,491 per bhori.
Besides, the price of 18-carat gold has risen by Tk 933 to stand at Tk 1,91,056 per bhori. And the price of traditional-method gold has risen by Tk 758 to Tk 1,56,064 per bhori.
Bajus said the making charge will vary depending on the design of the ornaments. However, as VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be charged separately from the buyer.
