Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Dhaka Metropolitan South, is organising a National Seerat Conference on Saturday (7 November). This year’s theme is ‘The political thought of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and the contemporary world’. The organisation’s Dhaka Metropolitan South President Sheikh Fazlul Karim Maruf and Secretary K M Shariatullah have called on city dwellers to join the conference and make it a success.
They made the call at the regular weekly meeting of the organisation’s Dhaka Metropolitan South unit on Wednesday (4 November).
Speaking at the meeting, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Maruf said that, as declared by Allah, the life of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) holds the best example for us. In his view, it is because this great ideal is absent from society and the state that lamentation and the frustration of deprivation prevail between the government and the people. He also remarked that there is no alternative to implementing the Seerat to establish peace.
K M Shariatullah said their goal is to establish the Seerat to eliminate social crimes including enforced disappearances, murder, corruption, terrorism, mugging, robbery and rape. To that end, he called for preparations to begin right away to make the 7 November Seerat conference a success.
The organisation said the conference will be held on Saturday at the Institution of Diploma Engineers auditorium in the capital. The event stems from the aim of spreading the ideals of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) beyond the bounds of personal life to society, the state and the international arena.
Also present at the meeting were city Vice-Presidents Alhaj Anwar Hossain and Alhaj Abdul Awal Majumder, Joint Secretary Muhammad Fazlul Haque Mridha, Organising Secretary Maulana Nazrul Islam, Maulana Kamal Hossain, Maulana Nazrul Islam Khokon, Hafez Salahuddin, Training Secretary Abdur Razzak Akon and Finance Secretary Abdur Rahman, among others.
