The Bangladeshi film ‘Roid’, made by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, is going to the Oscars. The film will compete for Bangladesh at the 99th Academy Awards (Oscars) in the International Feature Film category. The ‘Oscar Bangladesh Committee’, formed at the initiative of the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS), has chosen the film as the country’s official submission.
Dr Mohammad Zahirul Islam, president of the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies and chairman of the Oscar Bangladesh Committee, announced the name of the film at a press conference organised at a five-star hotel in the capital on Sunday.
