Ten-year-old Abu Bakar Siddique left home at around 10am on Friday and has not returned. No trace has yet been found of the child, who went missing from Paschim Chhatni village in Santahar union of Adamdighi upazila in Bogura. Unable to find him, his family has become anxious.
Abu Bakar Siddique is the son of Raihan Hossain of that village and a student of Chhatni Darul Uloom Hafizia and Noorani Madrasa. According to family sources, he was at home as the madrasa was closed on the day of the incident. In the morning, while he was playing with his younger brother, mischief and a scuffle broke out between the two brothers. His mother then scolded him. A little later, between approximately 10am and 11am, he left the house. There has been no trace of him since.
His father Raihan Hossain said he was not at home at the time of the incident; on returning in the afternoon he learnt that his son was missing. Since then, family members have been searching in various places. A request has been made that any kind-hearted person who finds the child contact the family. The family has sought everyone’s cooperation in finding him.
Asked about the matter, Adamdighi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Mia said he was not aware of it. No general diary (GD) or complaint has been filed with the police station over the incident so far either.
