The holy month of Jamadiul Awal will begin on Tuesday. The decision was made as the month’s crescent moon was not sighted in the skies over Bangladesh.
The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram conference room on Sunday evening.
The meeting was told that the month of Rabius Sani will complete 30 days tomorrow, Monday, and the counting of Jamadiul Awal will begin the following day, Tuesday.
Religious Affairs Ministry Secretary (routine charge) AHM Kamruzzaman presided over the meeting. Islamic Foundation Public Relations Officer Billal Bin Kashem announced the decision in a press release at night.
