The fifth edition of the ‘Banking Innovation and Technology Summit 2026’ (BIT’26) has begun in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Top executives of public and private organisations in the banking, fintech and technology sectors have gathered at this day-long summit. The prospects, challenges and technology-driven future of these sectors are being discussed at the summit.
The main topics of discussion at this summit, organised by the UAE’s first English daily ‘Khaleej Times’, include artificial intelligence (AI), digital payments, remittances and customer trust. The summit, presented by ‘Airpay’, is taking place at a time when banks in the Middle East are speeding up digital transformation and adopting AI, data, digital transactions and ’embedded finance’ as strategic drivers of growth.
One of the main topics of discussion at the summit is the growing use of artificial intelligence in transactions. In particular, various aspects of conducting transactions through AI agents instead of humans and its possible impact are being discussed. Besides, various aspects of digital payments will receive importance in a fireside chat titled ‘Outrun Disruption: A Payments CEO’s Unfiltered Account’. Cross-border payments and remittances also remain important topics of discussion at the summit.
The top industry executives speaking at the summit include Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) chief economist Deepak Mehra, Digipress CEO Nandan Mer, LuLu Financial Holdings managing director Adeeb Ahamed, du Pay CEO Roberto Mancone, Abhi CEO and co-founder Omair Ansari, Citi UAE head of wealth Rajiv Garg, Yusr founder and CEO Azamat Seitbekov and senior executives of multinational consultancy firm ‘Arthur D Little’.
