Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken part as the chief guest in a discussion organised on the occasion of World Habitat Day 2026. The event was organised at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital on Monday (5 October) with the theme ‘Housing for all, sustainable urbanisation’.
Before joining the event, the prime minister planted a ‘swarnachapa’ sapling on the premises of the conference centre.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Sumon, State Minister Ahammad Sohel Monzur and the ministry’s Secretary Md Obaidur Rahman, along with senior officials concerned, were present during the planting of the sapling.
