Popular actress Srabanti Chatterjee is returning to the character of ‘Thakuma’ once again. After the success of the series ‘Thakumar Jhuli’, she will be seen in the same character in its new season as well.
Srabanti gave the news of her new work while attending a Hoichoi event in Kolkata on Wednesday (30 September). She caught the eye in a red gown at the event; her photos and videos have already spread on social media.
‘Thakumar Jhuli’, based on Bengal’s popular fairy tales and directed by Ayan Chakraborti, was released in March this year, in which Srabanti won praise from viewers for playing the character of ‘Thakuma’.
In the new season, however, there has been a change of director — this time the series will be directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. As in the previous season, Dibyani Mondal will again be in the role of Thakuma’s granddaughter.
Rahul Banerjee had acted alongside Srabanti in the first season. However, as he died recently, he will not be seen in the new season, which has stirred emotion among viewers as well.
At the Hoichoi event, Srabanti expressed excitement about her new work. She also expressed joy over the event, held in the presence of various Tollywood stars. Her expectation is that such sustained work will take the Bengali entertainment world further forward.
