Mostaq Ahmed, speaker of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in the United Kingdom, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kaiser Kamal at his office in the parliament building on Thursday.
During the meeting, both sides expressed the hope of strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, exchanging experience in various fields and cooperating on matters of mutual interest.
The deputy speaker said Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have long enjoyed friendly relations and that many Bangladeshis live in Tower Hamlets. Expressing the hope that mutual cooperation would continue in Bangladesh’s education sector and for the welfare of the people of both countries, he said he was particularly keen to exchange experience and work jointly with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Referring to the good relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, Speaker Mostaq Ahmed expressed the hope that mutual cooperation and the exchange of experience would further strengthen the existing bond between the people of the two countries.
Two representatives of Tower Hamlets accompanied Mostaq Ahmed at the meeting.
