Two Bangladeshis are now receiving treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Dammam. They were injured in an attack targeting King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, at around 9pm yesterday (Wednesday). The initial reports on casualties that came soon after the attack made no mention of any Bangladeshi being injured.
Both are now in good physical condition. They may be discharged from hospital tomorrow (Friday).
Sources at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment identified the two injured men as Sajal Chandra Das and Mohammad Abdur Rahim. Both lost consciousness from the heat and smoke during the attack. However, no visible injury marks were found on their bodies.
According to the sources concerned, a representative of the Bangladesh Embassy visited the two in hospital, spoke with them and enquired about their treatment. Both were said to be in good physical condition now.
Sajal Chandra Das is from Ramchandrapur village under Bangra Bazar police station in Cumilla district; his father is Anukul Chandra Das. Mohammad Abdur Rahim’s village home is at Gobigallappur under Noakhali Sadar police station, and his father’s name is Sirajul Haque.
The Bangladesh Embassy is keeping regular track of the two men’s treatment and physical condition, ministry sources said.
