Additional Superintendent of Police Md Lutfor Rahman told BSS, ‘Drives have been conducted at various places where teen gangs are active, at teenagers’ hangout spots and in crime-prone areas. As a result of the continuous drives over the past few days, relief has returned among the people of Cumilla on the one hand, and the crime trend is also declining on the other. The superintendent of police said, we want to keep up the continuity of this drive to control juvenile crime.’
He said it is being scrutinised who among the detainees are involved in crimes. Necessary legal action will be taken after the scrutiny. Such drives are being conducted regularly so that adolescents do not get involved in criminal activities.
