BNP acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has remarked that the government is continuing its efforts to tackle the energy crisis. He said fuel oil prices in Bangladesh are much lower compared to other countries of the world. A war is going on in the Middle East. We are subsidising fuel. Losses have to be counted even after the price adjustment.
He made this claim at a briefing on Monday afternoon. At the time, he also presented a picture of current fuel oil prices in different countries. Rizvi said the government is sincerely trying to resolve the energy crisis. The language used against the government at the opposition’s long march, without discussing how fuel oil can be supplied at low prices, is not desirable.
The party’s acting secretary general further said BNP would not sit idle if a one-point warning is issued.
Rizvi described the incidents of bus arson and cocktail blasts in different districts of the country, including the capital, as planned terrorist activities to destabilise the country. He claimed conspiracies are also under way to divert the government’s social development programmes and public welfare measures in a different direction.
