Md Alamgir (46), a member of the Special Response Battalion (SRB), has been killed after being hit by a truck during a drive in Feni. He was working as a warrant officer at the Feni camp of SRB-7 on deputation from the Bangladesh Army. The truck driver was also injured in this incident.
The accident took place on the Chattogram-bound lane adjacent to the Fatehpur rail crossing on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at around 1am in the small hours of Sunday, the night of Saturday (3 October).
The deceased Md Alamgir is the son of late Nur Uddin Ahmed of Shantibagh village in Kendua upazila of Netrokona. The injured truck driver Sajib is the son of Salam Gazi of Shyampur village in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal.

But the truck, without stopping, hit the covered van and, while trying to flee at high speed, ran over SRB member Alamgir who was on the left side of the road and fell into an adjacent ditch.

The doctor on duty there declared Alamgir dead after examination. The injured Sajib is receiving treatment at the hospital.
