Those who have failed in one or two subjects in the HSC and equivalent examinations will get the chance to sit the exam again within a month.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon and the Prime Minister’s adviser Mahdi Amin said this at the inaugural ceremony for publishing the results of the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations at the Secretariat on Saturday.
The average pass rate in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations is 52.12 percent. Last year the rate was 58.83 percent; that is, the pass rate has fallen by 6.71 percentage points this time.
According to a notice, examinees and educational institutions can view results on the education boards’ joint website (eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd) and on the official websites of the respective education boards, and results can also be downloaded along with mark sheets.
Educational institutions can download the full result sheet by going to the ‘Result’ corner of the board website and entering the institution’s EIIN number. Examinees can also collect their results directly from their respective educational institutions if they wish.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said results can also be known quickly by sending an SMS from a mobile phone. Go to the message option of any mobile number and type:
HSC <space> first three letters of the board’s name <space> roll number <space> 2026 and send it to 16140.
[Example: type HSC Dha 123456 2026 and send it to 16140.]
No results will be given directly from the education boards, the education ministry or newspaper offices.
Those not satisfied with their results can apply for re-scrutiny or re-evaluation of answer scripts. Online applications will open on 1 November and continue until 7 November. Detailed rules for re-scrutiny and the fee payment process will be announced through notices on the education boards’ websites.
